Hi, I'm Kat and welcome to Take Some Whisks, a place for the home baker ready to take some risks in the kitchen!
One of my earliest memories is being at my grandma's house making welsh cakes with my sisters, and occasionally eating welsh cake batter. Since then, I've been expanding my baking and cooking skills gradually. And still eating cake batter.
I created this blog as a place to share recipes using simple ingredients that you can find in the shops or even have in your cupboards already. No difficult, fancy ingredients that you can't find anywhere else and then end up wasting the leftovers. You won't find that here.
These recipes are for anyone who wants to step outside their comfort zone every now and again and take a risk with a new recipe. Some may seem daunting at first, but really they're a piece of cake.
I want to
help you take those risks in the kitchen. Don’t like yeast? I don't either, but we'll make it easy.
Intimidated by layer celebration cakes? We’ll break it down. Want a new go to
reliable recipe you can crack out at any point in the week? We’ll bake it
together.
So grab a whisk and let's get crackin'... I'll meet you in the kitchen.
