But you don't want the whole tray of shortbread. For these moments, small batch baking is the perfect choice. I don't small batch much these days. But recently, I've been craving shortbread. Instead of buying it - <i>boring</i> - I made it, and so can you. </p><p><br></p><p>Shortbread uses 3 staple ingredients found in your kitchen. Nothing fancy or unusual, just butter, sugar and flour. Some recipes will call for cornflour, swapping out some flour for it, and this will yield a slightly softer texture. However, the classic recipe calls for flour. </p><p><br></p><p>Then, flavourings wise, it's down to you to decide what you're feeling. I had an orange I needed to use up, so the zest hasn't been wasted and instead has been mixed into these small batch shortbreads to give it a soft citrus zing. </p><span></span><a href="http://www.takesomewhisks.com/2021/07/small-batch-orange-shortbread.html#more"></a>Take Some Whiskshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08978700244279643014noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8213793126310019401.post-2311466125235839442021-09-12T11:10:00.002+01:002021-09-12T11:11:43.325+01:00No Churn Lime Pie Cheesecake Ice Cream<p style="text-align: left;"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3VFFMwY_Ki_M0Hnl3CaaKDiBAsrXa2wVWhcbqEsNXgwt_ukuUdmMJygwtwwFPc2Gz2UP_q-kmKjxOIKc-LYdzfjNzOOSPMh4Y2Uyo-W109zkTnlx6gqGmHLByAkXR_YciwpH6ktexSB4/s2048/lime+pie+cheesecake+no+churn+ice+cream-07.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="No Churn Lime Pie Cheesecake Ice Cream | Take Some Whisks" border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1366" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3VFFMwY_Ki_M0Hnl3CaaKDiBAsrXa2wVWhcbqEsNXgwt_ukuUdmMJygwtwwFPc2Gz2UP_q-kmKjxOIKc-LYdzfjNzOOSPMh4Y2Uyo-W109zkTnlx6gqGmHLByAkXR_YciwpH6ktexSB4/s16000/lime+pie+cheesecake+no+churn+ice+cream-07.jpg" title="No Churn Lime Pie Cheesecake Ice Cream | Take Some Whisks"></a></div><br><p></p><p style="text-align: justify;">It doesn't matter if summer is meant to be over. I had to. </p><p style="text-align: justify;"><br></p><p style="text-align: justify;">And ever since, I've been buying packs of mini eggs. It's a problem and it happens every year. </p><p style="text-align: justify;"><br></p><p style="text-align: justify;">Another thing I'm also loving at the moment is no churn ice cream. It's rich, indulgent, super creamy and really easy to make. </p><p style="text-align: justify;"><br></p><p style="text-align: justify;">I think everyone assumes that ice cream requires a special mixer, whisking for a certain amount of time or that it's harder than it looks. But it really isn't. There are no special ingredients, just double cream and condensed milk - that's all! And it's versatile too, you can add virtually any flavour combination to it, swirl it in, mix it in, combine it any way you'd like and you've got a winning ice cream. </p><p style="text-align: justify;"><br></p><span></span><a href="http://www.takesomewhisks.com/2021/03/no-churn-creme-egg-ice-cream.html#more"></a>Take Some Whiskshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08978700244279643014noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8213793126310019401.post-25587313307031430572021-03-14T12:39:00.004+00:002021-10-03T21:06:51.134+01:00Apple Cinnamon Rolls<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsDnZ2w2ijUxNehysLzjMgjWmPGPNqiruFrVxldHfPOossfRw7x1W-or5JJ8EujRAJ0zt2BpV9EdbbaXbi1HAe6ktqcAtEq2kcYnJAVQyOFjooVvIUhib1OnAv7rtN7X0GlDaEv-w3xF0/s2000/apple+cinnamon+rolls+10.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Easy Apple Cinnamon Rolls | Take Some Whisks" border="0" data-original-height="2000" data-original-width="1333" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsDnZ2w2ijUxNehysLzjMgjWmPGPNqiruFrVxldHfPOossfRw7x1W-or5JJ8EujRAJ0zt2BpV9EdbbaXbi1HAe6ktqcAtEq2kcYnJAVQyOFjooVvIUhib1OnAv7rtN7X0GlDaEv-w3xF0/s16000/apple+cinnamon+rolls+10.jpg" title="Easy Apple Cinnamon Rolls | Take Some Whisks"></a></div><br><p style="text-align: justify;"><br></p><p style="text-align: justify;">I lack a lot of patience sometimes. </p><p style="text-align: justify;"><br></p><p style="text-align: justify;">One baking thing that I never seem to have the patience for, is dough. Place in the freezer roughly 12-24 hours before you need them. </li><li>When they are fully frozen, put them in a food processor/blender and whizz them until smooth. This may take some time, it will become smooth, I promise. </li><li>Next, add your Biscoff. You can add more, as needed to suit your taste. You want to whizz for a couple of minutes until fully combined. </li><li>You can either serve at this point for soft serve or put the mixture into a freezer dish or tupperware box to fully set. If you are adding biscuits in or swirling Biscoff through, this is the point you will want to do this. </li><li>Leave to set in the freezer for at least 3 hours to firm up. Then serve! </li></ol></div><br />Take Some Whiskshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08978700244279643014noreply@blogger.com0
